Invisible Braces vs Clear Aligners: What's the Difference?

Published: 10 February 2026·Updated: 10 April 2026

'Invisible Braces' and 'Clear Aligners' Usually Mean the Same Thing

When London patients ask for invisible braces, they almost always mean clear aligners — removable, near-invisible plastic trays that gradually move your teeth. At our practice, that treatment is Pro Aligners.

How Pro Aligners Work

Pro Aligners are removable, transparent plastic trays custom-made from a 3D scan of your teeth. You wear each set for 22+ hours a day, switch to a new set every 1–2 weeks, and remove them only to eat, drink (anything other than water) and brush.

Best for: mild to moderate alignment issues where you want a discreet option and the flexibility to take them out for special occasions.

Three Plans, One Approach

PlanDurationBest For

|---|---|---|

Easy AlignUp to 4 monthsMinor adjustments, small gaps, post-orthodontic relapse
Smart AlignUp to 17 monthsMost adult full-arch cases
Ultimate AlignUp to 20+ monthsComprehensive / more complex cases

Member prices start from £1,000 (Easy Align), £2,000 (Smart Align) and £2,990 (Ultimate Align). Standard prices are £2,000, £4,000 and £5,980 respectively.

When Aligners Aren't the Right Tool

Severe skeletal cases, impacted teeth or significant rotations may need fixed orthodontic appliances. We don't offer those in-house — if your case is more suited to fixed appliances, we'll refer you to a trusted orthodontic specialist. We'll always be honest at the consultation.

Next Step

Your suitability depends on the shape of your bite and how much movement your teeth need. A consultation with one of our GDC-registered dentists is the only reliable way to know.
