The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic so you shouldn't feel pain. Mild sensitivity for a day or two afterwards is normal, especially on larger fillings.

Aftercare & recovery
Looking after a new filling
- Wait until numbness wears off before eating (usually 1–2 hours)
- Mild cold or bite sensitivity for a few days is normal
- Avoid very sticky or very hard foods for 24 hours
- Brush twice daily and floss around the filling as normal
- Contact us if the bite feels high or sensitivity persists beyond 2 weeks
- Attend regular check-ups so we can catch any recurrent decay early
