The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic so you shouldn't feel pain. Mild sensitivity for a day or two afterwards is normal, especially on larger fillings.

  • Wait until numbness wears off before eating (usually 1–2 hours)
  • Mild cold or bite sensitivity for a few days is normal
  • Avoid very sticky or very hard foods for 24 hours
  • Brush twice daily and floss around the filling as normal
  • Contact us if the bite feels high or sensitivity persists beyond 2 weeks
