Chipped Tooth

A small break in the tooth enamel — cosmetic or functional repair can usually be completed in one visit.

Overview

A chipped tooth is a break that affects the outer enamel layer and sometimes the dentine beneath. Chips commonly occur on front teeth after a knock, or on the edges of back teeth from biting on something hard.

Most chips can be repaired quickly and conservatively. Composite bonding — tooth-coloured material shaped and polished directly onto the tooth — is often completed in a single visit without drilling. Larger chips may need a veneer or crown for durability.

We match the shade, shape and surface texture carefully so the repair blends naturally with the surrounding teeth.
